Abstract

The construction project of PLTSa Putri Cempo Surakarta, was built to reduce the amount of waste
by converting it into electrical energy. There is a line design at PLTSa Putri Cempo using insulation to maintain
temperature. The 16" diameter PG-400-SSH-1250 line that reaches a temperature of 300°C with a pressure of
800 mmWC is connected from the outlet of the start up blower to the combustor gas inlet. The temperature that
must be reached by the combustor is 350 ° C, therefore insulation optimization needs to be done to get the
smallest heat loss value so that the temperature is reached faster, so that the producer gas cleaning process
can be processed faster. Optimal insulation selection is carried out based on the lowest heat loss value and
downstream temperature ratio using manual calculations and with the help of finite element method software
and the total cost incurred is affordable. Based on the calculation of nine variations, 100 mm thick rockwool
material was selected. The heat loss value for the material is 14880.058 Watt and the downstream temperature
ratio is 5.782%. From an economical point of view, this material is quite affordable with a total cost of Rp
