Abstract

Abstract – The L-299-A line piping system is an outgoing crude oil line piping system from the offshore platform to FSO. In this line will be refabricated and additional equipment in the form of a shut down valve (SDV). Because that, it is necessary to re-analyze the value of the stress and natural frequency using software, and produce a value of the smallest natural frequency of 3.3Hz with the minimum value allowed by the company is 4Hz. Because the natural frequency value does not meet the company's requirements, the design is unacceptable and needs to be redesigned. After redesign, the stress value obtained in the software has a value of 4164.7psi with a ratio to the allowable of 20.8%, and for stress due to thermal expansion has a value of 8052.9psi with a ratio of 16.7%. Meanwhile, the frequency value of the piping system after the redesign has a value of 4.4Hz so that it has a value greater than the minimum requirement allowed by the company.. So, from the values above that meet the permissible values, the new design of the piping system is declared safe and can be fabricated.
