Abstract

Abstract - Petroleums which of the most widely needed energy sources. Therefore, it’s important to focus the petroleum transportation process, there are ways to transport petroleum, are long transport vehicles and the pipeline networks. at Rokan Pipeline segment 11 required 27.3 km with 20 in outside diameter, a pressure of 680 psi, a temperature of 177F. Which had heavy crude oil from CGS 10 to BATANG. The aboveground pipe is overstressed on 5D radius bend by 45 degrees. In this research, a redesign will be carried out on the segment 11 by varied the bend angle, with variations bend angle 15, 30, 45, 90 degrees . It will compare the new design with variations in the bend angle on the underground pipes to obtain a bend angle that has a stress that bellow of the allowable stress based on ASME B31.4. After analyzing with Caesar II software, the results obtained in the underground segments at all angle variations have the same stress value for operating loading conditions of 30467.27 psi and for expansion loading of 20980.85 psi where this value is still below the allowable stress value.
