Abstract

Exploration and processing of oil and gas companies have a plan to add lines in the flowline using the tie-in method. When cutting pipes, found the existence of corrosion on the surface in the pipe. So, in this study analyzes the magnitude of the corrosion rate, remaining lifetime, risk level of buried flowline, and inspection planning. From the manual calculation, the largest corrosion rate is 0.4194 mm/year in the 180â° direction while from modeling using ANSYS software, the largest corrosion rate is 0.3023 mm/year in the 180â° direction. The remaining lifetime is 2.2 years with manual calculations and 3.03 years using ANSYS software modeling. Meanwhile based on hoop stress calculation, the remaining lifetime is 11.6 years in theoretical calculation and 11.4 years in ANSYS software modeling. The highest risk level occurs in the flowline between 2015 and 2032, with the highest risk score in the damage cost to surrounding equipment in affected area factor which is in the very high category.
