Perbandingan Kekuatan Tarik Pengelasan SMAW Elektroda E7016 dan E7018 pada Material API 5L Gr B
Abstract
In a piping system that is a complex welding joint on a pipe is one area that is prone to failure or problems, a high quality welding joint is needed so as to minimize the risk of excessive piping, especially in the welded joint. The need to do research to get maximum results in order to reduce the risk of failure on the connection. From the description above, this final project will examine the effect of variations in the shape of the seam and electrodes to determine the best tensile strength values and additions to the API 5L Grade B pipe with the destrictive test method, tensile testing. The electrodes used were E-7016 and E-7018 with variations in the seam used were Bevel groove, V groove and square groove. From this research, the highest tensile strength value of the E7018 electrode is V Groove with 573.35 MPa, while the E7016 electrode is V Groove with 570.57 MPa. So all of the V Groove joint has highest tensile strength.
