Abstract

In the process of making and processing of bioethanol many equipments and piping systems using material from steel. One of the protections to avoid corrosion is to do the painting. In the process of painting the largest failure of the failures caused by the material surface profile. One solution is to do the sand blasting process. The process is influenced by pressure, distance and time that will affect the roughness and adhesiveness of the paint. In this final task the influence of pressure, distance, and the time of the sand blasting process with steel grit G40 against roughness and adhesion of paint on steel A 36 will be discussed. The results from the roughness test of influence distance 35 cm, pressure 6 bar with time 20s has average of the highest roughness value of 90.17 μ and the average lowest roughness value at a distance of 45 cm, pressure 4 bar with a time of 10s of 47.67 μ. while from testing Pull Off Test The distance of 35 cm on the sandblasting process has the average highest adhesive power value of 9.53 MPa and the average lowest adhesive power value at a distance of 45 cm for 4.84 Mpa
