Analisa Tegangan Pipeline Sistem Penyediaan Air Minum Pada Kondisi Water hammer

On the construction of water distribution system, it is necessary to prevent water hammer effect on the distribution pipeline. Based on ASME B31.4 standard, the value of water hammer pressure increment must be considered. This research imply to get the value of potential pressure because of water hammer, and the effect on the value of stress pipe that have 12 bar pressure and 50oC temperature. The analysis using Pipenet and Abaqus CAE modeling software to determine the value of water hammer pressure increasement and stress value on pipe. This results indicated that there is a potential pressure increase due to water hammer of 56,8 bar, and the value of pipe stress occured is 40770 Psi.That value is exceeds the allowable stress base on ASME B31.4 standard
