Perancangan dan Analisis Vertical Pressure Vessel Tipe Gas Separator untuk Penambahan kapasitas Gas Plant
Abstract
A vertical gas separator is an equipment that will be designed to increase the capacity of a gas plant at a natural gas processing company that is planning to increase gas production facilities at one of its plants. The method that will be used in the design of vertical gas separators is a theoretical calculation that refers to the ASME Section VIII Division 1 and ASCE 7-10 and modeling using PV Elite software and simulation using ANSYS software. From the results of theoretical calculations, the thickness value of the shell and head due to internal pressure is the same, which is 0.8125 inches, and the thickness due to wind load is 0.875 inches. While the thickness of the skirt support is 0,5 inches. Then the deflection value is 0.003472 inch. Besides, the calculation results from the Elite PV thickness values obtained on the shell of 0.7825 inches and head of 0.768 inches. Then the MAWP value on the shell is 1131,539 psi and on the head, it is 1138,852 psi. Furthermore, from the simulation using ANSYS, the deflection value is 0.00431 inches and the von-mises stress value is 5718.8 psi.
