Abstract

RDMP RU-V Balikpapan is a project of improvement and addition of production capacity to 360 thousand barrels per day from the previous 260 thousand barrels per day. One of the units built about Steam & Power generation return condensate system. There is a pipeline design from an outlet deaerator to suction pump boiler feed water and pipeline from the header discharge pump boiler feed water to steam turbine generators that need to be done design evaluation because the line belongs to the category of critical line. This evaluation starts by calculating the wall thickness, minimum allowable span, selection of insulation materials and determining the thickness of the insulation and calculation of the voltage value that occurs using the software of CAESAR II. Calculation of the voltage value is based on ASME B 31.3 standard. The result of voltage analysis on the pipe line design of the discharge pump boiler feed water to the steam turbine generator indicates the value of voltage meets the standard permit of ASME B 31.3. Based on the results of the evaluation, the expansion loop design in the pipe of the discharge pump boiler feed water to the steam turbine generator is safe and acceptable.
