ANALISA PENGARUH SULFAMIC ACID DAN CITRIC ACID SEBAGAI PEMBERSIH KERAK TERHADAP KEKUATAN MATERIAL PIPA
Abstract - Pipe or material that are frequently used as industrial facilities eventually would have a performance drop in the form of material strength reduction caused by a lump of crust inside pipe. Crust was caused by fluids that flow through pipe and can be removed using scale removal liquid, by mixing process of some chemicals between sulfamic acid and citric acid that contains high acid that could shed the crust. sulfamic acid and citric acid was known for the ability as metal cleaning. Testing on material was used for determining the material strength value before cleaning using scale removal liquid and after cleaning using scale removal liquid. Testing that are performed are Tensile Test and Bending Test. Tensile Test and Bending Test are included in the categories of DT (Destructive Test) that is the test are performed by damaging the specimen. Tensile are used to see the material strength towards the weight given without causing the material to brake. Meanwhile Bending Test is one of the test to determine the material quality by visual. The results of material testing by bending and tensile tests did not show the difference between the material before cleaning using scale removal liquid with material after cleaning using scale removal liquid. Which in the bending test material before and after cleaning using liquid removal scale are both including acceptable materials according to ASME Sec IX standards, proven by the whole material both before and after not being able to crack. And the tensile test also did not show a significant difference between the material before cleaning using scale removal liquid and material after cleaning using scale removal liquid. The overall result, the process of cleaning the material using scale removal liquid did not affect the strength of the material.
