ANALISA PENGARUH pH LINGKUNGAN TERHADAP LAJU KOROSI DAN WAKTU SISA PADA HEAT AFFECTED ZONE AKIBAT PENGELASAN SMAW SPEC. PIPA API 5L GRADE B
Abstract
Abstract - This path of flowline became the focus of the study because in this pathway there is corrosion in welded joints due to acidic pH environment. So that the calculation of corrosion rate, material remaining lifetime, and corrosion mapping is needed to minimize damage and leakage that may occur. In the potentiostat test, API 5L grade B pipe material was used with acetic acid (CH3COOH) as solution corrosion media. From the results of the potentiostat test the highest corrosion rate was 17,658 mmpy for pH 4 located in the waterlogged area and the lowest corrosion rate was 1,758 mmpy for pH 6 located in the dry swamp area. The difference in the pipeline area can affect the corrosion rate and the material remaining life. Based on the corrosion map that has been made, it is known that as it can be seen from all segments ID that have red which means the corrosion rate is more than 1 mmpy (CR> 1 mmpy). This does not indicate that all segments ID have the same level of danger. In the test results it is known that pH 4 has the highest corrosion rate, which causes a low remaining lifetime. While pH 6 has a low corrosion rate that result in high value of remaining lifetime.
