Abstract

Abstract - Corrosion is the one of many problem which happen on piping or pipeline, not except on trunkline SP F4 toward SPU F on PT Pertamina EP Asset 5 Sangasanga which have pH value 3,5-6,5. Environment which acid characteristic can causes corrosion, in this case general corrosion.testing of material API 5L grade B which used on Trunkline SP F4 toward SPU F with immersion test and refers to ASTM G31-72 to get corrosion rate value. Furthermore caluculating lifetime value refers to API 570 with calculating minimum thickness allowed refers to ASME B31.4. Immersion test with three kind of solvent with three levels every solvent like solvent with pH 3,5, 5, 6,5, solvent with consentration 1000 ppm, 3250 ppm, 5000 ppm, and solvent with temperature 30 oC, 40 oC, and 50 oC.The result of life time calculation in sequence based on pH, consentration, and temperature. On pipe non-protection corrosion is 89,72 years, 45,32 years, 70,99 years. On pipe with paint protection is 141,62 years, 57,88 years, 121,23 years. On pipe with paint + wrap protection 161,46 years, 78,33 years, 135,41 years. The result of cost per-year calculation in sequence based on pH, consentration, and temperature. On pipe non-protection corrosion is Rp 50.580,00 /year, Rp 91.178,00 / year, Rp 58.703,00 / year. On pipe with paint protection is Rp 33.315,00 /year, Rp 76.184,00 year, Rp 36.548,00 /year. On pipe with paint + wrap protection Rp 40.209,00 /years, Rp 80.617,00 / years, Rp 46.307,00 /years. Pipe with paint protection is most proper to aplicated in plant because have highest economic value.
