Abstract

Rivers play a crucial role in Indonesian society. They offer various benefits such as rainwater

collection, power generation, and transportation. One of these rivers, Greges River, is earmarked by

the government for logistic transportation. Despite its numerous advantages, environmental issues

persist, with waste pollution being a recurring problem every year. The Surabaya government's efforts

to address this problem involve using filters at pump houses for river waste cleanup. Consequently, an

innovative solution is imperative to design a waste collection vessel. The envisioned waste collection

vessel aims to contribute to reducing waste accumulation in the Greges River. The vessel's creation

process necessitates data, including annual waste statistics, the condition of Greges River, and

comparative data. The utilized applications comprise AutoCAD, Maxsurf, and Microsoft Excel

software. The designed vessel adopts a catamaran hull type, employing the parent design approach. Its

primary dimensions are LOA=10m, B=4m, T=0.6m, with a speed of 5 knots. The waste lifting process

onto the vessel's waste container employs a 3 kW-powered conveyor, with the container's capacity

being 2.07 tons. The waste cleanup route for this vessel spans 2.18 km along the Greges River. Disposal

or transportation to the mainland occurs near the Greges Pump House area.
