Abstract

One important construction that needs to be considered on the ship is the stern ramp door. This is because the stern ramp door construction will receive both static loads during its operation. The strength of a structure makes a very important contribution to the overall safety of the system. This study aims to analyze the construction of the stern ramp door to be at a safe limit when used. The analysis method used is the finite element approach (FEM). The output of the structural analysis with the FEM method is to solve the deflection and stress in a structure that receives a certain load under appropriate boundary conditions. This study resulted in a maximum stress that occurred at a plate thickness of 6 mm of 75.67 N / mm² or 75.67 mPa this voltage also meets the provisions of the BKI Strength criteria because it does not exceed the voltage of 98.40 N / mm² or 98.40 Mpa. The deflection that occurs at a plate thickness of 6 mm, the front wheel loading has a deflection of 17.6 mm so that the rear wheel loading has a higher deflection than the front wheel by 35.2 mm. Safety factor at 6 mm thick gets a safety factor of 0.76
