Abstract

In the industrial world, especially in the manufacturing industry, production scheduling is very important to increase production levels, minimize total costs and time of production, so that the creation of effective and efficient production. This study focuses on scheduling production machinery
in the Frame assy in the Heavy Equipment Division, to get the smallest makespan value so as to overcome the delays that occur within the company. The method used is the Campbell Dudek Smith (CDS) method. CDS is one of the scheduling methods that can minimize makespan and produce solutions that are near optimal. In this method, finding the best process sequence by combining it into two groups of machines. The results of this study indicate that, the Campbell Dudek Smith (CDS) method can optimize the production machine scheduling time. Calculation of scheduling using the Campbell Dudek Smith (CDS) method produces a value of makespan 10,251 minutes from the existing 11,146 minutes method. The CDS method is 895 minutes faster than the company's existing method or in percent by 8.02%. Thus this method can be used as an alternative to minimize time
frame production scheduling time for companies and with company savings of Rp. 13,532,795.
